An innovative and fast-scaling organisation in the electric vehicle charging space is looking for an experienced System Engineer to lead the architecture and design of integrated battery and charging systems. With a growing international footprint and backing from key government initiatives, this company is delivering next-generation DC charging infrastructure across the UK and beyond.
This role would suit someone with a background in energy storage, system integration, or power systems, who enjoys working cross-functionally to develop robust and scalable system designs for new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of new product system architectures, creating documentation to define detailed engineering requirements
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure appropriate component specifications and quality procedures are in place
- Conduct system performance analysis and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and in-service availability
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to support product certification, compliance, and operation
- Provide performance reporting and data-driven insights to improve system uptime and long-term reliability
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in system integration, ideally within energy storage, EV charging, or solar power systems
- Strong grasp of system architecture development, engineering processes, and product validation cycles
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic environment
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in solar and battery-to-grid connection schemes
- Familiarity with EV charging communication protocols and integration
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams to support product development and field validation
