Carmichael UK are seeking a SCL Site Engineer to work on the HS2 project in Birmingham
Responsibilities will include:
Provide setting out and final check with Total Station and Amber system for 2nd lining work and SCL excavation work (controlling the excavation profile and shotcrete spray profile)
Coordination with Subcontractors: Ensure that subcontractors are provided with the necessary information and materials to carry out their work on time. Liaise between the subcontractors
Site Supervision: Supervise the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and direct labour to ensure compliance with the project schedule, specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
Site Activities Monitoring: Monitor and report on the progress of work being executed by subcontractors, addressing any delays or issues in real time
Material and Work Quality Check: Inspect the quality of work performed by subcontractors and ensure that materials are of the required standard and are being used properly
Compliance with Specifications: Ensure that all work done by subcontractors or direct labour is in accordance with the contract specifications
Inspection & Testing: Coordinate the testing and inspection with Quality Team and Client and Designer according to approved ITP to completed work and materials to ensure they meet required quality
On site testing; Carry out shotcrete related test to facilitate the excavation cycle
Set up of maturity sensor: Install maturity sensor for 2nd lining
Safety Standards Compliance: Ensure all subcontractor activities are in compliance with the company’s health and safety policies and relevant legal requirements
Daily Progress Reports: Maintain detailed records of daily work performed by subcontractors, including materials used, hours worked, and any issues encountered
Issue Reporting: Report any issues, delays, or concerns regarding SCL work to higher management
Prepare safety related documents; Provide or updated RAMS, TBS, related permit, etc…
Key Skills and Qualifications:
HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills
You must hold the following competencies
CSCS White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager or Gold - Supervisor
