Job Title: CNC Setter / Operator
Location: Brownhills
Contract Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour
Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:30
• Friday: 06:00 – 10:00
• Mid-morning break (paid), 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Free tea & coffee

Our client specialises in machining medium to large fabrications on a wide range of standard and multi-axis CNC milling and machining centres. We are a well-established engineering business with a strong reputation for quality and precision, serving various industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres
• Working predominantly with Heidenhain controls (Fanuc experience is also beneficial)
• Performing basic daily and weekly maintenance tasks on machinery
• Using micrometers, verniers, and hard gauges to check work and adjust offsets as needed
• Problem-solving and supporting team members as needed
• Assisting in team support and mentoring once familiar with the processes
• Handling components ranging from 50g to 500kg (crane training provided)

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a CNC Setter / Operator
• Comfortable working with Heidenhain control systems (Fanuc desirable)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Previous crane handling experience is desirable (training will be provided)
• Physically fit to meet the demands of the role

Training Provided:

• Full machine and product familiarity training
• Overhead crane training if required
