Role and Purpose
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help develop and deliver high-quality environment art for AAA games, both for Flix’s own exclusive projects and our high profile co-development partners. As a vital component of the Art team, you will work in conjunction with artists, designers, and developers utilising your artistic abilities and creativity to bring the vision of the game to life.


Responsibilities:



  • Create and implement high quality game environments, props, textures and materials based on art and design guidelines.

  • Follow and uphold art style principles, maintaining visual consistency across the project and ensuring content aligns with the game’s aesthetic, gameplay, and narrative requirements.

  • Actively participate in art reviews, incorporating feedback to improve the quality of your work.

  • Follow best pipeline practices for asset creation, optimization, and performance, ensuring artwork meets visual quality standards and runs smoothly across target platforms.

  • Communicate and collaborate with Art and Design teams to help uphold the quality bar of the game’s artwork, ensuring a consistent and cohesive visual identity.


Requirements:



  • Proficiency in relevant industry-standard software such as Blender, Photoshop, Substance, ZBrush or equivalents.

  • Good understanding of game art content creation for Unreal Engine, including the full modelling, texturing, material, and implementation process.

  • The ability to contextualise design block-outs with existing art assets and produce high-quality game environments while upholding the level’s design intention and integrity.

  • A passion for gaming and a drive to deliver visually stunning and captivating gaming experiences.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work positively in a team environment.

  • Take critique and guidance from others well, and be able to contribute your own creative input in art reviews.

  • Manage your time effectively to create content to time, quality and implementation constraints.

  • Understanding of level design/level compositional theory.

  • Skills in any adjacent areas such as Niagara, Blueprint, Concept Art, Character Art, Animation, Level Design etc.

  • Experience creating high fidelity, realistic foliage using SpeedTree or similar pipelines.
