Rebuilding your life after prison is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. We are looking for individuals who have faced similar challenges themselves who are best able to support and understand the challenges our participants face.

We’re looking for a dedicated individual with lived experience to join our Justice team supporting participants gain essential life skills, confidence, and connections following a custodial sentence.

This is for the person who understands that rehabilitation is hard but by using your own experiences and knowledge you are ready to roll up your sleeves and pro-actively support others on their journey.

About the Role:

You will be working with individuals who have recently been released from prison, on licence or on a community order. You will be a key member of a wider team supporting and encouraging participants to engage in activities, learn new skills, and maximise opportunities that will support them to address barriers and support their journey to rehabilitation.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Relationship Building: Foster genuine, trusting, and non-judgemental relationships with participants, creating a safe space for personal growth.

  2. Delivering Group Sessions: Use your strengths and experiences to lead engaging sessions on topics such as fitness, cooking, and essential life skills.

  3. Advice and Signposting: Provide guidance and connect individuals to CFO Activity Hubs, partner agencies, and peer mentors for further support.

  4. 1:1 Support: You will be setting and reviewing goals while ensuring accurate and timely recording of the journey.

What We Are Looking For:

  1. Engagement: Your personal experiences will help inspire and connect with participants, making the hub a welcoming place they want to return to.

  2. Communication Skills: You’ll have the ability to engage, motivate, persuade, and listen—building strong connections with those you support.

  3. Safeguarding Awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.

  4. IT and Administrative Skills: Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.

  5. Resilience: This role can be challenging, and results may take time, but you are the kind of person who stays committed and sees things through.

What We Offer:

At Ingeus, we listen to our employees and have developed a benefits package that supports both your personal and professional well-being:

  1. 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to trade for additional leave.

  2. EAP Support Programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.

  3. Private Medical Insurance and Life Assurance.

  4. Up to 2 days of Community Giving (volunteering) each year to support a cause that matters to you.

  5. Eyecare Vouchers to help with glasses or eye care.

  6. Exclusive discounts via Perks at Work.

  7. Cycle to Work Scheme and Travel Season Ticket Loan.

  8. Long Service Awards to celebrate your commitment.

  9. Salary Finance offering financial education and advice.

  10. The opportunity to purchase extra benefits like Critical Illness Cover and Dental Insurance.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced Level 1 DBS check. As we wait for the necessary background checks to be completed, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to shadow your colleagues, ask questions, and learn the ropes at your own pace.

At Ingeus, our Justice division is dedicated to transforming lives and creating safer communities. Our mission is to reduce reoffending, build stronger communities, and help people realise their potential.
