Senior Social Worker - Fostering


Are you a passionate and experienced social worker looking to take your career to the next level?
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our clients team and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families.
What You'll Do:




  • Lead the Way: Provide quality assurance for documents, take initiative on projects, and step up as acting manager in the Registered Manager's absence.


  • Champion Fostering: Conduct thorough assessments of prospective foster carers, ensuring they meet the highest standards.


  • Empower Families: Provide ongoing support and guidance to approved foster carers, helping them create nurturing environments for children.


  • Make a Lasting Impact: Partner with social workers, children, and families to achieve positive outcomes.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Quality Assurance & Leadership:

    • Ensure documentation (PFCRs, annual reviews, policies) meets high standards.

    • Lead internal projects like foster carer support groups.

    • Step up to manage the team in the Registered Manager's absence.

    • Mentor and support other social workers (employed and associates).

    • Provide guidance and clarification to colleagues.




  • Fostering Expertise:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of prospective foster carers.

    • Prepare well-written reports for various forums.

    • Deliver presentations and training for foster carers (initial & ongoing).

    • Provide ongoing support and supervision to approved foster carers.





Who You Are:



  • A qualified social worker with SWE registration and experience in fostering.

  • Proven leadership and management skills (acting manager experience a plus).

  • Excellent communication, planning, and prioritisation abilities.

  • A passion for child welfare and a commitment to fostering excellence.
